Business profile & taxes
Your workspace’s core identity, and the tax rate new quotes and invoices start with.
Business profile#
Settings → Business profile holds your workspace’s core identity: the business name your team sees across the dashboard (customers may see a different public-facing name — see Settings → Branding), a legal name (used on customer-facing documents only when Branding hasn’t set its own override — left blank until you add one), your timezone (drives scheduling and display for jobs, invoices, reports, and recurring contracts), and your locale and currency.
Changing timezone only affects how new dates display and how future jobs/visits are scheduled — it never rewrites timestamps already recorded. Locale and currency affect display formatting only, across the dashboard and customer-facing documents — they don’t convert amounts already recorded in a different currency.
Default tax rate#
Settings → Taxes sets a default sales tax rate (up to two decimal places, e.g. 8.25%) applied to the subtotal of every NEW quote or invoice you create. Leave it blank for no default — new documents start with no tax prefilled, exactly as before this setting existed.
You can still clear or override the tax by hand on any individual quote or invoice. Changing the default never changes tax on documents you’ve already made.
