Quotes & invoices
Quote work, collect a signature, and bill without re-typing.
Build & send a quote#
Create a quote with line items and send it to your customer. They review it on a branded page and can accept or decline online; you can also request an e-signature so acceptance is captured formally.
Starting from a customer or a job page instead of Quotes → New quote? Use the "New quote" button right there — the customer (and job, if you started from one) is already selected when the form opens.
Discounts#
Use “Add discount” — on the quote builder and on invoices (both when creating one and when editing a draft) — to take a percentage or a fixed dollar amount off. Percentages are computed against the document’s items to the exact cent, and you can label the discount (“Returning customer discount”) so the customer sees why.
The discount lands as its own line — editable and removable like any other line — and carries through unchanged to the accepted quote, the PDFs, the pay page, and the final invoice. A discount can never push a total below zero, even stacked on top of an existing discount. On invoices, sales tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal.
Turn an accepted quote into an invoice#
When a customer accepts, Meridian freezes exactly what they accepted. If the quote asked for a deposit, a deposit invoice is created automatically. When the work is done, hit “Create final invoice” on the quote — it builds the invoice from the accepted line items, credits any deposit as its own line, and never re-types or re-prices anything.
Invoices#
Send an invoice and your customer gets a secure pay link branded to your business. The invoice flips to paid automatically when they pay, and the payment is recorded against the customer. See “Getting paid” for how payments and fees work.
Every invoice page has a Download PDF button — including paid invoices, so you can hand a customer a receipt copy of exactly what they were billed, any time.
Link every invoice to its job#
A job’s Profitability numbers (collected, invoiced, margin) are computed from the invoices linked to that job — an unlinked invoice counts toward nothing. Three ways to keep the link: start from the job page’s Invoices card (“New invoice” arrives pre-linked), pick the job in the “Job (optional)” field on the New Invoice form (picking a job also selects its customer for you), or repair an existing invoice from its page — the Linked job card lets you link, change, or unlink the job on any invoice, even one already sent or paid.
While you build the invoice, a job summary shows the job’s shifts — who worked, when, and the actual tracked time — so you can bill hours without flipping back to the job page or working from memory.
